A few weeks ago I got a wonderful package in the mail: Monica Carnesi's book "Little Dog Lost"
Monica and I met through our blogs well over three years ago. We usually commented on each others work (she has named a few of my paintings and drawings as a matter of fact). I love hopping on her blog and seeing what she's up to and what her interpretation of the word of the week for Illustration Friday. You see, Monica is a librarian and a very gifted illustrator. So, when she first started talking about writing this book, I was extremely excited for her and very interested in the book (it had to be good, this is Monica we're talking about!)

I can't tell you how grateful I was when she emailed me to let me know she was sending me a signed copy of the book. When we got it (and some fun inserts), my daughter and I devoured the book. Okay, that might not be the best word but we went through it very thoroughly and loved it. My daughter wanted to put it in her room with the rest of her books, but, since she's 3 and not the best with taking care of all her books just yet, I decided to keep in in my personal library.
"Little Dog Lost" is about the true adventure of a dog named Baltic who was stranded on a big piece of ice and carried off to sea. Monica captures this story in such a simple but moving way that you can't wait until he is rescued.
If you want to know more about the book you can check out her website here.
If you want to know more about Baltic, she discusses how she first heard of his story on her blog here.
Wow, Elisa, thank you so much!! I'm so glad you and your daughter enjoyed "Little Dog Lost"!
