in the studio
What's going on in my studio? Well for starters I just bought a canvas that I am in love with. I know that sounds so silly. Who the heck is in love with a canvas? Uh... that would be me. This is the first canvas I have bought for my landscapes that is THICK. It's deeper than the usual 7/8" that's for sure. Try 1 1/2". And much larger at 24"x36". Grandpa's Land is the only piece that I've done this size before and I'm excited to go back to the larger scale.
After I got the large canvas, I went through all of my photos that I've taken over the years and had some of my favorites printed out. The top photo, of the hay bales is the project I am about to tackle. I've already made some sketches on canvas of it, so now it's time for me to delve even further.
And the process has begun. Stay tuned...
